What we do

Events

Each month we celebrate national holidays and other special occasions. We teach the children the history behind the celebrations and also incorporate fun games, learning and creative options to showcase and celebrate the events. Our philosophy is to better appreciate and understand the various cultures in our world.

Parent Involvement

We recognize that parents are children’s primary teachers, which is why at CPI, we offer training experiences to parents and invite them to participate as volunteers in the classroom. They can help with center-based activities and are also a part of the decision-making process that makes our program successful.

Ways to help

We welcome businesses and members of the community to be involved with the enrichment offerings at CPI. As a local preschool and children’s nurturing center, there are various ways to partner with us to help our children get a jump start toward educational empowerment and success.

About Us

Since 1969, Community Parents, Inc. (CPI) has provided high quality, comprehensive preschool  education and family engagement services.  Originating in Brooklyn and later expanding into Queens, CPI was one of the first Head Start programs to offer full day services and presently, Early Head Start for toddlers at each of their center locations.  Our emphasis is to maximize each individual child’s learning potential irrespective of any special needs through inclusive settings where children learn from one another.

Children from low income families (90%) meet the federal poverty guidelines established by the Department of Health and Human Services.  CPI provides a research based quality education that cultivates school success.  We believe families are critical as the foundation of children’s achievements in kindergarten and beyond.

“Together we aspire, together we achieve; working in unity to enhance our community”
